The creative collaborations and innovative ingredients that are a hallmark of the event are also the driving force behind the thriving marketplace. Now in its 7th year, the SupplySide CPG Editor's Choice Awards recognizes some of the coolest new launches of consumer packaged goods (CPG) products in nearly 30 categories.
Once an option only sought out by a small minority of consumers (typically those dealing with a verified sensitivity), foods and beverages free-from allergens and/or gluten have become much more popular. An increasing number of consumers are purchasing from these categories in the interest of making “better for you” choices. And that’s on top of those who need to shop with an eye on food sensitivities and allergies.
Hats off to this year’s top five contenders in the Allergy-Free/Gluten-Free category. They confirm that omitting certain ingredients no longer suggests a product won’t be as flavorful or convey the same texture or experience as a product containing gluten or an allergen.
One winner in each category will be announced on the SupplySide Central Stage at SupplySide West 2018, held at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
