Upcoming webinars explore Ozempic, food trends, more

The Chicago Section of Institute of Food Technologists (CSIFT) has several education and networking events planned in the coming months. First, Hannah Ackerman, RD, will moderate “The Ozempic Effect: How the food, beverage and supplement industry can draw inspiration from the Ozempic Effect and provide real value to consumers in the years ahead,” a webinar happening noon-1 p.m. CT March 12. Also, on April 9, CSIFT will host a Trivia Night and networking event at the Flavorchem SRS Center for Taste Innovation in Downers Grove, Illinois. The event raises money for the Chicagoland Food Science Foundation, a non-profit that creates awareness of food science and provides scholarships to students pursuing a degree in food science and nutrition. On May 14, Frank Yiannas, former Food and Drug Administration (FDA) deputy commissioner for Food Policy and Response, will deliver the 62^nd annual Tanner Lecture in Elk Grove, Illinois.
